Position Summary
Join our team as an GIS Field Coordinator, supporting the GIS Assistant Manager at Wateen Telecom. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in assisting with the Surveying, Mapping and execution of GIS-related projects. Your responsibilities include providing valuable support to project teams, identifying resources, and contributing to the establishment of clear objectives, timelines, and milestones. Your assistance will be key in ensuring the successful deployment and usage of GIS standards. Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for gathering location-based Wateen fiber network, customers and assets data from the field using mobile data collection devices that are Global Positioning System (GPS) or Camera etc
- Coordinate with Field Operations Teams to mark and update company assets on paper maps/standard attribute forms to update in GIS database
- Having capability to design Cartographic maps and geospatial data analysis techniques
- Provides GIS-related technical guidance and assistance to field teams
- Develop reports on geographic data, ensuring standardization and quality control of data across reports
- Manipulation, analysis and presentation of geographical information by creating programs to convert GIS information from one format to another
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, superiors.
Required Skills
- GIS mapping software products (ESRI & QGIS)
- Survey Techniques (GPS, GPS Camera)
- Remote Sensing & Satellite Image Interpretation (Basics)
- Cartography & Mapping Skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as presentation skills
- Motivation and a pro-active attitude
- The ability to translate requirements into working solution scenarios
Education & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Space Science, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university
- 1-2 Years of relevant experience in the Surveying and mapping of Utility Industry
