Position Summary

Wateen Solutions is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) to
oversee the organization’s data protection strategies and ensure compliance with data protection
laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing privacy
frameworks, ensuring data security, and driving compliance initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Offshore Project (KSA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for data protection and privacy-related inquiries within the organization
  • Monitor compliance with global data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.) and industry standards
  • Implement and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Conduct regular data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and audits to identify and address potential compliance risks
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to assess and mitigate data security risks
  • Work with internal teams to integrate privacy and security considerations into business processes and product development
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities and auditors, on data protection matters
  • Lead the response to data breaches, ensuring timely communication and resolution in accordance with legal requirements
  • Maintain detailed documentation of incidents and corrective actions taken

Required Skills

  • Preferably 5 – 8 years of experience in information security or data protection
  • Proven expertise in implementing and managing privacy compliance frameworks
  • Motivational, team building, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of global data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, and others)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities effectively

Education & Experience

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security / Computer Sciences or equivalent
  • Certifications like CIPP, CISA, CISM, ITIL, COBIT etc
