Position Summary
Wateen Solutions is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) to
oversee the organization’s data protection strategies and ensure compliance with data protection
laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing privacy
frameworks, ensuring data security, and driving compliance initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for data protection and privacy-related inquiries within the organization
- Monitor compliance with global data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.) and industry standards
- Implement and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and best practices
- Conduct regular data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and audits to identify and address potential compliance risks
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to assess and mitigate data security risks
- Work with internal teams to integrate privacy and security considerations into business processes and product development
- Liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities and auditors, on data protection matters
- Lead the response to data breaches, ensuring timely communication and resolution in accordance with legal requirements
- Maintain detailed documentation of incidents and corrective actions taken
Required Skills
- Preferably 5 – 8 years of experience in information security or data protection
- Proven expertise in implementing and managing privacy compliance frameworks
- Motivational, team building, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of global data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, and others)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities effectively
Education & Experience
- At least Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security / Computer Sciences or equivalent
- Certifications like CIPP, CISA, CISM, ITIL, COBIT etc
