Position Summary
The Network Security Engineer will serve as the first point of contact for the customer on-site, responsible for handling day-to-day operations, technical support, and issue resolution. The role requires coordination with Wateen’s internal technical teams and escalation to OEMs/Principals when necessary. This position is key to ensuring high service quality, smooth operations, and customer satisfaction across enterprise networking, security, wireless, and collaboration technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site technical lead and first escalation point for the customer.
- Manage all support incidents and operational issues related to the deployed solution.
- Engage ATS senior engineers and escalate to OEMs (Cisco, Fortinet) if issues are not resolved at Level 2.
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of enterprise network and security systems.
- Maintain complete technical documentation, including LLDs, diagrams, SOPs, and logs.
- Advise on best practices, product usage, and configuration improvements.
- Monitor solution health, ensure stability, and proactively address risks.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and issue ownership.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in routing and switching protocols: BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IPv6, and QoS.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Cisco Enterprise Wireless Solutions (design, deployment, and troubleshooting).
- Expertise in Fortinet Firewalls, including firewall policies, NAT, and UTM configuration, VPN (IPSec/SSL), HA, and clustering, integration with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer, and security profiles (IPS, web filtering, antivirus, etc.).
- Experience with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, including overlay configuration and dynamic path selection, performance SLA monitoring, application-aware routing and WAN optimization, and integration with FortiGate NGFW for unified policy enforcement.
- Familiarity with Cisco Security technologies such as FTD/FMC, Cisco ISE, VPN, and 2FA (Cisco DUO/RSA/Forti Authenticator).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN, SD-Access.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-handling capabilities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise networks.
- Minimum 5 years of customer-facing experience in technical support or deployment roles.
- Fortinet NSE 4 (NSE 5/6+ is a strong advantage).
- CCNA/CCNP certifications are preferred.
