Position Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and self-driven Presales Technician – Passive Infrastructure Solution to support the Presales and Sales team in designing, proposing, promoting, and helping in implementing/deploying passive infrastructure solutions to the customers. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of structured cabling systems, fiber optics, racks, cable trays, Passive Optical Network, surveillance, and related physical infrastructure used in Campus Networks, Data Centers, commercial buildings, and the telecom sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Presales, Sales, Procurement, and Post Sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide technically sound passive infrastructure solutions.
- Prepare technical BOMs (Bill of Materials) after coordination with the procurement market suppliers and vendors, with detailed solution designs.
- Conduct site surveys to assess passive infrastructure related to ICT, Power Systems, Data Center, Campus Network, Surveillance, Video Conference, IP Telephony, Passive Optical network, and recommend appropriate Passive Infrastructure solutions.
- Conduct site survey planning and use AutoCAD design building/customer premises floor plans for LAN/WLAN solution using Ekahau and Huawei WLAN Planner Software (Heatmaps), and generate reports and Passive Infrastructure Bill of Material (BOM) & Priced BOQ.
- Conduct site surveys to assess infrastructure and support in implementation/deployment related to Power Systems e.g. Utility Power Supply, Main Distribution Board (MDB), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Backup Generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Battery Banks, Rack Power Strips, Electrical Circuit Breakers, Surge Protectors, Voltage Regulators, Energy Monitoring Systems, Cooling System Power Supply, Lighting Power Circuits etc. and generate Bill of Material (BOM) & Priced BOQ.
- Conduct site surveys to assess infrastructure and support in implementation/deployment related to Data Center e.g. Smart Racks, Cabinets, Cable Trays, Patch Panels, Structured Cabling (Fiber & Copper), Raised Flooring, Cooling Systems, Fire Suppression Systems, Physical Security Systems (CCTV, Access Control), Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Lighting, Grounding Systems, Environmental Monitoring Sensors, Containment Systems etc. and generate Bill of Material (BOM) & Priced BOQ.
- Conduct site surveys to assess infrastructure and support in implementation/deployment related to Passive Optical Network e.g. Fiber Optic Cables laying as per industry standards, Patch Cords, Splice Trays, Optical Distribution Frames (ODF), Fiber Enclosures, Optical Splitters, Attenuators, Transceivers (SFP, SFP+, QSFP), Media Converters, Fiber Optic Adapters, Couplers, Fusion Splicers, Mechanical Splices, OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer), Visual Fault Locators (VFL), Fiber Patch Panels etc. and generate Bill of Material (BOM) & Priced BOQ.
- Liaise with Passive Infrastructure OEMs and suppliers to ensure compatibility, pricing, and compliance with standards.
- Support in preparing responses to RFPs/RFQs/RFIs, including Passive design documents, compliance related to Passive Infrastructure.
- Provide product demonstrations and technical clarifications to customers.
- Ensure all proposed designs comply with industry standards.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in the passive infrastructure domain.
- Assist in presales and post-sales handover by clearly documenting the design and scope of work.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Passive Infrastructure: Passive Optical Network, Site Survey Planning for LAN and WLAN, Data Center and Campus Network Passive Infrastructure, Power Systems, etc.
- Understanding of Campus Network and Data Center physical layer design and best practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to interpret site layouts, architectural drawings, and technical diagrams.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, Ekahau, WLAN Planner, or similar design/drawing tools is mandatory.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Telecom Engineering or related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in Presales or technical roles related to passive infrastructure solutions.
- Industry certifications such as CommScope, Panduit, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience in handling large-scale enterprise or data center projects is a plus.
